Anthony has always heard a different drummer, but did his best to plug his ears and conform. Over the years he has worked as a curb waiter, garbage collector, soldier, landscaper, mall security guard, graveyard shift convenience store clerk, federal agent, and middle-level manager and leadership development trainer with a large, multi-national corporation. Downsized from the corporate gig after 21 years, Anthony decided to get reacquainted with his elusive drummer. He unplugged his ears, started marching to his own music and dedicated the second half of his adult life pursuing happiness through a new career; that of fulltime storyteller, speaker, writer, humorist and performer. What does he do?
From tall tales to folk tales, wonder stories to wisdom stories, silly songs, poems and parables, Anthony's storytelling produces giggles, gasps and guffaws. In living rooms, libraries, auditoriums and amphitheatres, he lightens hearts, arouses imaginations, and opens minds to infinite possibility. Children and adults alike are captivated and transported to strange lands long ago where things were not exactly as they are today... Or perhaps they are introduced to alternate versions ... More of reality in which the commonplace becomes uncanny and the strange becomes downright bizarre! Depending on the audience or the situation he might accentuate his performance with the guitar, harmonica, tambourine or rhythm sticks. He might also juggle or perform silly stunts and magic tricks. As a speaker, Anthony uses story to provide audience-appropriate inspirational messages. He can act as an opener, ice breaker, keynote speaker or master of ceremonies. He can liven up routine meetings, boost morale or facilitate corporate events, workshops and training seminars. Anthony's underlying message of "Lighten Up! Laugh It Up! Live It Up!" is designed to help listeners focus their energy on what is important in their lives, find humor wherever and whenever possible, and achieve success through self-reliance, service and the commitment to attain their personal best in all endeavors. As a corporate storyteller he uses story as the foundation of facilitated discussions that encourage attendees to find common ground, understand differing positions, bridge gaps, create unity of purpose and build immediately usable strategies and plans of action.
